6th in a series of etudes spanning the circle of keys. It was inspired by (and may be considered a transcription of) Neil Diamond's 1972 hit Solitary Man. The exercise is aimed at independence of the hands, with two voices in the right hand and quasi-staccato figures in the left hand; and should be played with as little pedal as possible.
